I own and run a marketing firm that provides integrated programs including marketing consultation, public relations, Web design/development and interactive marketing, Web applications, sales promotion, advertising, and more.

I have a liberal arts education with a BA in English and had years of experience as a professional writer and marketer before starting this firm.

What education or training do you recommend for students today who want to enter this field?

Depending on the area of interest a student has: business or marketing degree, English, writing, graphic design, software engineer/Web applications developer. Also, being bilingual in Spanish/English could be helpful in some markets. Expect to need at least a 4-year degree in most cases.

When you were in high school, did you know that you would enter this field?

I knew I wanted to write and be creative. I knew I wanted to be in charge. This was one possibility.
